The Weekly Quickie: BABYMETAL, MEMENTO MORI, landz., DIAURA, Alice 9

Hot off a string of North American appearances, teen metal mistresses BABYMETAL have announced they will be returning!  No specifics as of yet.  All we know is they plan to visit the US and the UK again starting sometime in November.  If you didn't catch them this time around, now's your chance.  In the meantime, check out fellow Lixx writer, James C. Stewart's live report from their show at Heavy Montreal.

I've also got some news for Memento Mori fans...and it's the GOOD kind!  We've all been a little bummed out since the announcement of their disbandment, but it seemed their funeral live came with a positive surprise.  Memento Mori will be reforming with all their current members, including support drummer Raddock, under the name Kuroyuri to Kage.  The name change comes with a whole new set of stage names as well and, I don't know about you, but that's really gonna mess with my head.  Not only did they announce their reformation, but the release of two new CDs and their first one-man live at Ikebukuro EDGE on November 2nd.  Talk about the mother of all mood swings.

And now for the bad news.  Remember a few weeks ago when landz. announced a hiatus?  Unfortunately, that hiatus has become disbandment.  They originally decided to take a hiatus based on personal issues, but it looks like things aren't improving.  They stated that they don't feel like the band would be landz. even if they lost a single member, so they've decided to disband.  They will hold their final show on October 1 at Ikebukuro Edge.  This is sad news for all involved and I can only wish them well in their future endeavors.

Remember my post earlier this week about XENON clothing store and that mysterious dark picture?  No?  SHAME ON YOU!  Well, XENON has officially announced the guest for their second livestreaming and Cure snapshot event and it is none other than DIAURA!  This is huge.  I love these guys.  If you live in the LA area and don't go to this...well...that's just silly.  Anyway, the event will be held September 13 from 8-9:30pm at their location in Little Tokyo, so go check it out.  And, pick me up some cool swag while you're there, would ya?

Speaking of huge, news reached me just this morning that visual kei veterans, Alice 9, will be leaving PSC.  No specific reasons have been given that I've found and, judging by a tweet from Shou, it seems that after ten years, it's just time to move on.  Most VK fans have....feelings about PSC, so I'll be curious to see how this moves affects the future of Alice 9.  We'll keep you posted as things develop.

And that's the Quickie.  Latz.
