Before I get started, today is Memorial Day here in the US, and I'd like to take a moment to thank all the soldiers and their families for their service to our country.  Your strength and sacrifice is deeply appreciated.



Starting this Quickie off with happy news!  Alice Nine has announced their official comeback with their 11th Anniversary live, Re:Birth, at Toyosu PIT on August 23.  What this means for their independent incarnation, A9, I'm not really sure, but it's exciting nonetheless.  Check out the announcement trailer and try not to squeal.

We've got a lot of new releases announced this week, starting with My Bacteria Heat Island.  At their one man live at Takadanobaba AREA, they announced they will be releasing a new mini-album in April 2015.  No exact date or title as of yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted.  They also announced their next one man taking place at AREA on July 20.

The Weekly Quickie: CLOWD, DIV, Liraizo, My Bacteria Heat Island, Shonenki, REIGN

Boy, do I love a mystery.  Word of the formation of a new band has reached my ears, but details are very hush-hush.  The group is called CLØWD and so far, we have nothing more than an official site displaying a teaser video and a countdown clock.  The band image is also quite vague, with each member standing behind bars with covered faces.  Any guesses on who they could be?

The Weekly Quickie: X-Japan, Nocturnal Bloodlust, My Bacteria Heat Island, LM.C, SuG

As you all probably know, X-Japan played Madison Square Garden in their first show in what seems like a hundred years.  From what I'm hearing, the show went great and came with a big announcement.  X-Japan has confirmed the release of a new album and a world tour!  No details as of yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted.

The Weekly Quickie: My Bacteria Heat Island, GRIEVA, QuaLiA, DEATHGAZE, D.I.D., ViViD

We have a mystery this week, folks.  I took a visit to My Bacteria Heat Island's homepage and....countdown?  No clues as to what it means, but boy does it have me excited.  If you aren't familiar with My Bacteria Heat Island, it is the new band fronted by ex-Chemical Pictures vocalist, Tenten and it is....REALLY good so, needless to say, I can't wait to see what surprise they have in store for us.

The Weekly Quickie: HOLY CRAP NEW RELEASES! Edition

I don't know about you guys, but my head (not to mention my wallet) is absolutely SPINNING over all the new releases announced for this summer and fall season so, I thought I'd help you guys get your head around it all by making up a list of some of the most notable and most sought after albums.  You ready?  Ok, let's go.

MY BACTERIA HEAT ISLAND.  I have really been looking forward to this one, and it's finally here!  My Bacteria Heat Island released their first EP, titled Nisshin Geppo, on July 2nd.  The EP comes with 5 tracks and a 12 page poetry book.  That's right, I said poetry!  Check the preview, then GO GET IT before it sells out!

The Weekly Quickie: Crazy Shampoo, Synk;yet, My Bacteria Heat Island

 Disbandments have struck once again.  This time it's Crazy★Shampoo.  They recently announced that they will be disbanding on May 18th following their oneman at Shibuya La.mama.  They will release one final album, as yet untitled, sometime in May.  The official statement released on the members' blogs gave no reasoning for the disbandment, just thanked the fans and staff and asked for their continued support.  We wish all the members luck in their future endeavors.

Good news from members of Sink;yet.  Bassist Shiori, who has been on hiatus since January for treatment of Hodgkins Lymphoma, is expected to make a full recovery and return to band activities in May.  A free oneman live will be held on May 12 at Ikeburkuro Cyber to commemorate the event as well as the release of their MV collection, [dimension of vision.]  You can find comments by the band and Shiori himself kindly translated by the folks at Visual Keios.

I love hearing about new bands!  Ex-Chemical Pictures vocalist, Tenten, has announced he's started something new.  It's called My Bacteria Heat Island.  Information is sparse at this point and their OHP is pretty bare, but you can find a preview video and a very mysterious visual.  Keep an eye on their official twitter for quick updates.
